Social Security Payment July 2026: Who Gets Paid on July 15?
The next Social Security payment for July 2026 goes out on Wednesday, July 15, and it is for beneficiaries whose birthdays fall between the 11th and 20th of any month.
This includes most retirement, Social Security Disability Insurance, survivor, spousal, and family benefit recipients who started collecting after May 1997.
Who qualifies for July 15
Social Security uses a staggered Wednesday payment schedule for most people. If you were born between the 11th and 20th, July 15 is your payment date.
The schedule for July 2026 looks like this:
-
Birthdays from the 1st through the 10th were paid on July 8.
-
Birthdays from the 11th through the 20th are paid on July 15.
-
Birthdays from the 21st through the 31st will be paid on July 22.
Important exception for some beneficiaries
If you receive auxiliary benefits, such as a spouse or survivor payment, your deposit date may be based on the worker’s birthday rather than your own. That can create confusion when people in the same household get paid on different days.
Who was paid earlier in July
Some people were paid on different dates. SSI recipients were paid on July 1.
Beneficiaries who get both SSI and Social Security, live abroad, are enrolled in a Medicare Savings Program, or started receiving Social Security before May 1997 were paid on July 2 because July 3 was observed as a federal holiday.
SSI recipients will also get another payment on July 31, which is the August SSI payment sent early because August 1 falls on a Saturday.
What to do if your payment is late
If your payment does not show up right away, check your bank account or Direct Express card first. The SSA says to allow three additional mailing days before reporting a missing payment.
