Social Security Payment Schedule for February 2025: Here’s When You’ll Get Paid

If you receive Social Security benefits, it’s important to know when your February 2025 payments will arrive so you can plan your finances.

Payments are sent out on different days depending on when you retired and your birthday.

Here’s a simple breakdown of the Social Security calendar for February.

When Will Your Payment Arrive?

The Social Security Administration (SSA) will send February payments on the following dates:

  • February 3rd: For retirees who began receiving benefits before May 1997.
  • February 12th: For retirees with birthdays between the 1st and 10th who began receiving benefits after May 1997.
  • February 19th: For retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th who began receiving benefits after May 1997.
  • February 26th: For retirees with birthdays between the 21st and 31st who began receiving benefits after May 1997.

If you’re unsure which group you’re in, check your Social Security account or payment history to confirm your payment date.

How to Get Paid Faster?

To receive your payment as soon as it’s sent, make sure you’ve signed up for Direct Deposit.

This method allows the SSA to deposit your benefits directly into your bank account on the payment date, avoiding delays caused by mail delivery.

How Much Will You Receive?

The amount you receive depends on your retirement age and type of benefit:

  • Retirement at age 70: Maximum benefit is $5,180 per month.
  • Retirement at age 67: Maximum benefit is $4,018 per month.
  • Retirement at age 62: Maximum benefit is $2,831 per month.
  • Disability Retirement: Maximum benefit is $4,018 per month.
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI): Maximum benefit is $967 monthly (if applicable).

Planning for Your Retirement Income

If you’ve already received payments in January, your February payment will be the same, giving you a consistent monthly income to help manage your expenses.

If February is your first payment, it marks the beginning of your Social Security benefits—a significant step in your retirement journey.
