Reminder: No SSI Payment in September 2025. Here’s Why

Millions of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients need to be aware of an important schedule change this year.
Normally, SSI payments are deposited on the first of every month. But in September 2025, there will be no payment on the 1st.

Why the Change?
-
September 1, 2025, falls on Labor Day (Monday), a federal holiday.
-
Because of this, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will send the September payment early, on Friday, August 29, 2025.

Important Reminder
This is a routine adjustment whenever the payment date falls on a weekend or holiday.
If you notice no SSI deposit in September, don’t worry, you already received it early at the end of August.
